Women's Soccer Draws Against Waterloo
Laurier: 0 Waterloo: 0
WATERLOO - The Lady Hawks engaged in their second battle of Waterloo on their home pitch yesterday, October 11, 2006. The Warriors took off right away, and had the first goal attempt on Owens with a header. The Warriors seemed to be dominating but Captain Erin Shewfelt had a star performance this game in her new position as a defensive midfielder. She had great control and worked hard on defense and prevented many attempts and scoring opportunities by the Warrior’s forwards. Andrea Adamic was able to create some scoring chances for Laurier, but the half was left at a 0-0.

Into the second half coach BARRY MACLEAN made some changes to the lineup. Kirsten Chalmers came on strong and had an excellent half. Adamic once again created some more scoring opportunities as she is a very diligent player upfront, however she could find no result.Towards the end of the second half the Hawks seemed to break down giving the Warriors a clear breakaway, but Goal Keeper Lindsey Owens came out quickly and put an end to it, not giving Waterloo the chance. The game ended in a 0-0 tie and the Lady Hawks will be playing next against York in Toronto on October 15th.
