Good Performance, Unlucky Result
Laurier: 0 Waterloo: 1
The Lady hawks played the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday in what was a very close match. The women were coming off a poor result against Brock and needed a good game to bounce back and move up in the standings. Unfortunately the Warriors scored early and the ladies found themselves down 1-0 at the half.

The second half found the Hawks all over the Warriors but they just couldn’t seem to find the net. Kathy Jackson curved a nice ball over a wall on a free kick late in the game but the shot sailed wide. Minutes later Jaana Koponen had a solid strike on net but unfortunately hit the cross bar. With all the pressure the Hawks just couldn’t seem to put one in and so the game ended 1-0 for Waterloo. Head Coach BARRY MACLEAN was pleased after the game even though they couldn’t capture the three points. “They played much, much better and I was very happy with their performance, its unfortunate that the ball just didn’t bounce our way.”

The Hawks have a days rest before they start preparing for McMaster on Saturday September the 25th.
