Waterloo, ON - Wilfrid Laurier University is pleased to announce the appointment of Anita Gardner
as the Coordinator of Programs for the Department of Athletics and Recreation.
Anita takes one of the new roles in the Athletic Department which is currently restructuring to better serve the Laurier community. Since 1998, Laurier’s recreation program has grown in order to service the student population, moving from 225 intramural teams to over 575 and from 450 participants of fitness and recreational programs to over 2,800.

, Laurier’s Director Athletics and Recreation. “Her active participation in recreation programming has given her the experience needed to take recreation at Laurier to the next level.”
Gardner, a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier, and master’s graduate of the University of Waterloo worked as a student leader for four years.
“I am proud to once again work as a Golden Hawk”, said Anita. “I am looking forward to building the recreation programming at Laurier”
Anita was honoured in 2001 as the inaugural winner of the Don Smith
Leadership Award. The Award
recognizes the student leader who makes a lasting contribution to the recreation program.
