Waterloo, ON - Wilfrid Laurier University has appointed Ari Grossman
as the Coordinator of Sport Information for the Department of Athletics and Recreation.
Laurier’s Sport Information Department, which has been student driven for more than five years, is responsible for the communication and promotion of all intercollegiate sports as well as recreational activities.
“Ari is highly respected amongst his colleagues in both the OUA (Ontario University Athletics) and the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport),” said PETER BAXTER
, Laurier’s Director Athletics and Recreation. “His many contributions to Laurier Athletics and his hard work within the national sport scene earned him the job.”
Grossman, a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier, has apprenticed as a student leader since 1999, promoting Golden Hawk student-athletes, teams, coaches and programs through a variety of mediums including print, the web, radio, and television. He is also the producer of ‘Laurier Hawk Talk’, Canada’s only one-hour university sports news-magazine on public radio. On the national scene Ari has assisted at the Vanier Cup and East-West Bowl over the past three years.
"Promoting the accomplishments of student athletes, and their success stories, continues to be very important to me and I am delighted to have been given an opportunity to raise the profile of Golden Hawk activities," said Grossman. "Laurier has exceptional programs and outstanding coaches which continue to benefit many people."
Grossman was honoured in 2002 and 2003 as the male student leader contributing most to WLU Athletics and Recreation and is respected for his leadership and teamwork.
