Good Result For The Hawks
Laurier: 3 York: 0
On Sunday, October 6, 2002 the Laurier Golden Hawks took on the York Yeomen which finished in the Hawks favour 3-0. Starting the Hawks off 24 minutes into the first, Jason Lyall came forward from the back making a pass to Kenny Nutt who fired a shot taking the score to 1-0. This game had more soccer spirit as the Hawks dominated the shots on net. The second half began on a high note for the Hawks after eleven mintues. Wojciech Cwik scored a much needed goal into the top right corner, bringing the score up 2-0. Alex Kameda found himself in a breakaway position and was taken out by the York goalkeeprer who recieved a yellow card for the foul. Wojciech Cwik took the shot which hit the right post, just narrowly missing the net. Another foul in the York end, gave the Hawks another free kick. This shot taken by Kenny Nutt did not materialize and the score remained 2-0. Only a minute later, with the Hawks itching to score, Wojciech Cwik too a shot which went in to solidify the win for the Hawks 3-0. Hawks Coach BARRY MACLEAN was satisfied with the positive result.
