Hawks Tie Home Town Rivals
Laurier: 1 Waterloo: 1
On Saturday, October 5, 2002 the Laurier Golden Hawks took on the Waterlo Warriors which ended in a tie game 1-1. Both goals were scored in the first half of the game. The Hawks had their chance six minutes into the half when the Warriors were given a penalty which allowed Wojciech Cwik to take the shot bringing the Hawks up 1-0. Eleven minutes later Warriors' Nick Klassen took a shot from outside the box which went in, tying up the score 1-1.
The remainder of the game had both teams fighting for another goal which never materialized. Hawks Coach BARRY MACLEAN was satisfied with the match, as it was decent considering the team is faced with so many injuries right now. Many of the key players were stepping up to the challenge today, as they is just a matter of time before the injuries are healed and the Hawks will be back in 'full' force once again.
Come out and support the Laurier Golden Hawks as they take on the York Yeomen, Sunday, October 6 at 1:00pm at University Stadium.
