2013 - Men's Football - Quarterback Technician
Wally returns to the Hawks’ coaching staff for the first time since 2005. Currently serving as Laurier’s Interuniversity Sport Coordinator, Wally helped lead the purple and gold to the 2005 Vanier Cup Championship when he served as the team’s special teams coordinator and quarterback coach.
2007 - Athletics - Coordinator of Interuniversity Sport
Wally began his career in athletics at the University of Guelph where he was the student manager of the W.F. Mitchell Athletic Centre and later the Facility Manager of the Gryphon Centre Twin Pad Arena. Wally has also been an assistant football coach for 11 years, five at the University of Guelph and the past six years here at WLU. He is currently the Quarterbacks Coach and Special Teams Coordinator for the Golden Hawks. Along with his coaching role, Wally is responsible for the support surrounding the student athletes and coaches of Laurier's 23 Inter-University teams. Wally lives in Waterloo with his wife Alison and their three children Camille, Elliot and Eva.
2005 - Men's Football - Special Teams Coordinator & Quarterbacks Coach

2004 - Men's Football - Special Teams Coordinator & Quarterbacks Coach
Wally enters his sixth year as a full time Assistant Coach at Laurier. Wally will move back to the offensive side of the ball to coach the Quarterbacks this season, a position he held from 1999-2001. He will also return as the special teams coordinator, a position he has held for the Hawks since 2001. In addition to his coaching duties, Wally will coordinate the recruiting efforts for the Golden Hawks.

Wally began his coaching career at Centennial High School in Guelph in 1993. In 1995, he joined the coaching staff at the University of Guelph where he enjoyed a successful playing career as a quarterback and punter winning two Yates Cups (1992 and 1996). During his four years as a coach with the Gryphons, Wally coached the quarterbacks, running backs, special teams and served as Offensive Coordinator in 1997 and 1998.

Wally resides in Waterloo with his wife Alison and his three children, Camille (10), Elliot (5) and Eva (3).
2003 - Men's Football - Special Teams Coordinator & Defensive Backs Coach
Wally enters his fifth year as the full time Assistant Coach at Laurier. Wally will continue as the defensive backs coach this season and will return as the special teams coordiantor, a position he held for the Hawks in 2001. Wally began his coaching career at Centennial High School in Guelph in 1993. In 1995, he joined the coaching staff at the University of Guelph where he enjoyed a successful playing career as a quarterback winning two Yates Cups (1992 and 1996). During his four years as a coach with the Gryphons, Wally coached the quarterbacks, running backs and served as Offensive Coordinator in 1997 and 1998. Wally resides in Waterloo with his wife Alison and his three children, Camille (9), Elliot (4) and Eva (2).
2002 - Men's Football - Defensive Backs Coach/ Recruiting Coordinator
Wally enters his fourth year as the full time Assistant Coach at Laurier. Wally will move to the defensive side of the ball this season after coaching on the offensive side for the previous 9 years. He will coach a young group of defensive backs, with only 3 starters and 6 total returning players.

Wally continues to work alongside Coach Zmich with the recruiting effort and coordinates the Golden Hawk’s off-season Strength and Conditioning program. He is strongly involved with the fundraising efforts of the 5th Quarter Club coordinating the Friends of Golden Hawk Football Dinner and the Adopt-a-Golden Hawk Program.

2001 - Men's Football - Offensive Coordinator
Wally enters his second season at Laurier. In his four years as a Quarterback at the University of Guelph (1989-92, 96), Wally led the Gryphons to two Yates Cup Championships (1992, 96), including the 1992 Yates Cup in which he was selected as the game’s MVP.

Wally began his coaching career at Centennial High School in Guelph in 1993. In 1995, he joined the staff at the University of Guelph as Quarterback / Running Back Coach. Wally was later named Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator in 1998.

In 1999, Wally became a full-time member of the Golden Hawk Football Team. Wally’s responsibilities included Quarterback Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. In the upcoming year Wally’s roles have expanded to include Strength and Conditioning Coach. Wally resides in Waterloo with his wife Alison and his two children, Camille (5) and Elliot (1).
2000 - Men's Football - Quarterbacks Coach
A former Guelph Gryphon quarterback, Gabler brings a wealth of CIAU experience to the Hawks in what will be his first season on the sidelines. Aside from coaching the quarterbacks Gabler will serve as coordinator of recruiting.
