Gary has coached 30 football seasons at Laruier, with 17 as Defensive Coordinator. He was named the interim head coach midway through the 02 season and was named the full-time head coach in 2003. The Golden Hawks defeated the Saskatchewan Huskies in the 2005 Vanier Cup to cap off the season with a perfect 12-0 record. Coach Jeffries has coached over 700 games in total for Laurier (both football and basketball), and his passion for Laurier sport remains undying.
