2013 - Athletics - Director of Athletics & Recreation
Peter has been Wilfrid Laurier's Director of Athletics and Recreation since May
of 1998. Peter puts strong emphasis on student leadership within the program
creating a variety of opportunities for Laurier students in the day-to-day
activities of the department. During his time as Director, 31 of Laurier's 62
OUA championships and nine of eleven CIS national championships have been won
by Golden Hawk teams. In addition, renovations and expansions have taken place
on Golden Hawk facilities including two renovations to the Athletic Complex , a
turf development of Alumni Field, the revitalization of University Stadium
and the current second expansion of the Laurier Fitness Centre. Peter has also
represented Canada as Chef de Mission for two World University Games (2009
Winter Universiade in Harbin and 2011 Summer Univerade in Shenzhen, China) and
has served on numerous Committees and Executive Boards of both the OUA and CIS
sport organizations.
