Rainouts/Inclement Weather/Cancellations

(External/Internal Bookings)

Rainouts or cancellations: WLU Athletics & Recreation must be contacted within 72 hours in there will be a cancellation (non weather related).  If there is a Rainout please contact WLU Athletics & Recreation the morning of your event before 7:00am. (Please provide a contact number of the individual who will be responsible for THE EVENT).  Cancellations due to weather can be directed to Ryan Lannan (Coordinator: Facilities) ext. 3732.  General cancellations can be directed to bookings@laurierathletics.com or ext. 3720.  Unfortunately we cannot provide rain out dates.  ALL ACTIVITY WILL & MUST BE STOPPED WITH ANY SIGN OF THUNDER OR LIGHTNING.  ALL PARTICPANTS MUST VACATE THE PROGRAMMED AREA IMMEDIATELY (I.E. FIELD). 

LIGHTNING SIGHTING:

Leave playing area immediately

Seek nearest indoor shelter

Activity can resume once 30 minutes has passed from the last sign of lightning (please follow the direction of facility staff)

Facility Staff have the ability to cancel any activity to due weather at any time (no exceptions)

Make up field space cannot be guaranteed for a later time or date.  Activity still must end at completion of scheduled booking unless permission granted from Athletics & Recreation.

HEAVY RAIN/SLEET/SNOW/HAIL

Leave playing area immediately

Seek nearest indoor shelter

Activity can resume ONLY WHEN FACILITY STAFF HAS GRANTED PERMISSION TO RETURN TO FIELD

Facility Staff have the ability to cancel any activity to due weather at any time (no exceptions)

Make up field space cannot be guaranteed for a later time or date.  Activity still must end at completion of scheduled booking unless permission granted from Athletics & Recreation.

HEAVY WINDS

Facility Staff have the ability to cancel/halt any activity to due weather at any time (no exceptions)

WLU Athletics & Recreation can halt/cancel activity at any time with minimal to no notice

Make up field space cannot be guaranteed for a later time or date.  Activity still must end at completion of scheduled booking unless permission granted from Athletics & Recreation.

NOTE: ALL FIELDS ARE IN THE CONDITION THEY ARE IN, NO MATTER THE WEATHER.  WINTER MAINTENANCE IS ALSO NOT PERFORMED ON THE FIELDS.

WLU ATHLETICS &RECREATION HAS THE RIGHT TO CANCEL/POSTPONE OR SUSPEND ANY FIELD BOOKING DO TO PLAYING CONDITIONS WITHOUT NOTICE.
