Wilfrid Laurier Athletics Department's policy is to respect and protect the privacy of our users. This policy statement tells you how we collect information from you and how we use it. Using the Internet should be a fun experience and we want to help you make it so. Except in the limited circumstances stated below, laurierathletics.com will never intentionally disclose individually identifying information about its members to any third party without that member's permission.

Where do we gather information from you and what do we do with it?
When you sign up through our Ecommerce and User Interface System, we require that you enter your full name and e-mail address. We may also ask you for additional information like your address, or other pieces of information to match Wilfrid Laurier University records. Additional information may be collected and/or required for the administration of some of our programs and services.

We offer online registration for programs and services offered by the Athletic Department. The information gathered through the registration process is stored and only relayed to those who administer these programs. Some of these registration processes include e-commerce transactions. These are done through an external gateway ("Moneris Solutions Corporation") on behalf of Wilfrid Laurier University Athletics & Recreation. In order to verify the identity and provide ample security for our users, address and/or postal code information is supplied to this company to compare and authorize finacial settlements. Wilfrid Laurier University's Athletic Department does NOT record any credit card numbers through this process, only the confirmations of approval - which are added onto receipts for the product/service.

Laurierathletics.com issues and reads cookies to track any customization options you may have selected. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer which holds information that you have asked our website to keep track of. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Golden Hawk website features or services may not function properly without cookies.

We also keep track of how laurierathletics.com is accessed. When you request a page from our servers, we store that request and the time you made it, along with the IP address of the computer that made the request. (An IP address is a unique number assigned to every computer on the Internet that other computers, like our servers, use to identify and send data to that computer.) We keep track of these requests in pretty much the same way that every commercial Web site out there does. This access information helps us figure out what the most and least popular parts of the site are, so we can make more of the most popular things and less of the least popular things.

How else do we use the information that is gathered?
We present reports, to potential and current advertisers about what kinds of people will see or have seen their ads. Remember that without your consent, we never tell advertisers information that individually identifies you, such as your name or your e-mail address.

We may, however, disclose information that individually identifies you to third parties when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, other members or users of laurierathletics.com, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. We may also disclose such information to third parties when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

If you have difficulties with this, send a request to laurierathletics.com's Web Producer (at the email listed below) with the subject "Unsubscribe" and you will be removed within 48 hours.
