Yoga and Pilates Class Descriptions

Cycle n Pilates

Complete an hour cycle class for a great cardio workout followed by a pilates class focused on toning all the major muscle groups of the body.

Cycle n Yoga: complete an hour cycle class for a great cardio workout followed by a relaxing and rejuvenating yoga class.

Dancealates
A typical pilates class inspired by a traditional dance warm up. This is great for increasing your flexibility and strengthening muscles

Flexibility
Learn new poses, get deeper into stretches and increase your flexibility in combination with mediating and relaxation techniques.

Hatha Yoga
Revitalize both your mental and physical health including physical postures, purification procedures, poses, yogic breathing and meditation.

Just Breathe
Relaxation techniques, breathing, gentle stretches and mediation techniques to relieve cramped muscles, sore backs, headaches and over-stuffed brains.

Power and Endurance
Push yourself to new limits through gentle hatha stretches and breathing techniques centered on personal self-challenge. This is great for strengthening muscles and building stamina.

Power On The Ball
Come try this power-style yoga class centered on mostly core, upper body and balance work.

Power Pilates
Try more complex and challenging pilates techniques at a faster pace. This is great for strengthening muscles and building stamina. 

Power Yoga
Try more complex and challenging yoga techniques at a faster pace. This is great for strengthening muscles and building stamina.

Progressive Pilates
This program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine, in particular teaching awareness of breath and alignment of the spine. This class aims to strengthen deep torso muscles.

Rock n Roll
This entire class is structured around the foam roller. Balance training, self-myofascial release, self massage and stretching will be the main goals.

Theraband:
Tone your muscles with continuous resistance. This is great for strengthening muscles and to help increase flexibility.

Yogalates
Combing techniques from yoga and pilates.

Fusion Programming
Do you know what is included with your shoe tag?
Fusion classes are the latest and greatest craze. Our fusion classes allow you the chance to try out different instructional class styles while only having one shoe tag. Wilfrid Laurier University’s Department of Athletics & Recreation is home to varsity sports as well as numerous intramural, recreation & fitness programs. Over 6,000 students at Laurier participate in 30 intramural sports and 40 recreational programs annually.

All Fitness and Recreational classes and instruction require an additional fee to assist with the instructional component to the class. Registration takes place early in the term through an online process.
