The pool provides over thirty hours of recreation programming every week, including lane swimming, and intramurals. The aquatic programming offered here includes swimming and lifesaving instruction. Private and group lessons are offered to members who would like to learn basic swimming skills or improve their stroke, speed and endurance. Lifesaving instruction courses include the Lifesaving Society bronze awards, first aid courses and National Lifesaving certification. Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Standard First Aid incorporates all Emergency First Aid. This program is designed for those who require an in-depth understanding of first aid, including legal implications, spinals, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abnormal/chest injuries, burns and medical emergencies. CPR Level C covers all aspects of CPR skills for aiding adults, children and infants. This program is recognized by the WSIB and satisfies requirements in the Ontario Public Pools regulation. No prerequisite is required and a manual will be provided. Course Fee: $80 for members ($90 for non-members) Course Dates: - October 20th & 21st - December 8th & 9th - March 23th & 24th Standard First Aid and CPR Recertification The recertification program covers all aspects of first aid and CPR. A recertification is required to keep your first aid up-to-date with changes made in the first aid and CPR programs and to ensure skills are kept up to standard. Course Fee: $60 Course Dates: - October 14th - November 18th - February 3rd NLS Re-cert Course - October 14th - March 3rd SCUBA Course Laurier will be running SCUBA courses at the Laurier Pool. These courses will be basic introductions to the world of SCUBA diving, for anyone who is not ready to take a full course. Included are classroom and in water time with trained professionals. We are excited to announce that this year brings a new and exciting coaching roster to the Laurier Masters Swim program!
The Masters Swim Program is for adult swimmers with varying levels of swimming ability with the intent (for any or all of the reasons): to swim for fitness, for competition; enhance the triathlon programming, and mainly for the FUN of it! The program swims out of the 50m 6 lane facility of Wilfrid Laurier University (corner of King and University Waterloo).
Please Note: All masters swimmers must be a Laurier student or a member. Memberships can be purchased at the Hawk Desk. Regular Practice Schedule (Starting September 11th)
Tuesday 5:30-7 a.m.
Thursday 5:30-7 a.m.
Saturday 10:30-12 p.m.
Sunday 8-9:30 a.m.
Cost:
Gold Program (up to 4x per week) $170/term + HST
Purple Program (2x per week) $95/term + HST
**Fee includes Masters Ontario Registration
Your membership is paid by terms:
1) September to December
2) January to April
3) May to August (Can only be purchased in April)
