Hawks Squires to compete at Canadian Juniors
WATERLOO, Ont. (January 31, 2013) - The 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships will have a member of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men's curling team among its competitors next week as skip Aaron Squires of St. Thomas, Ont., will represent Team Ontario at the event.

Squires, a third year communications student, will represent Ontario along with teammates Jason Camm as well as David and Curtis Easter. Squires will skip the team while throwing vice rocks while Camm will throw skip rocks and play vice. 

"We are very proud to have Aaron representing us at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships," commented Laurier head coach Gary Crossley. "He and his teammates have proven themselves among the best curlers in Ontario this season and they are worthy representatives of the province at the national championships."

Representing the St. Thomas Curling Club, Squires and his teammates are the No. 1 ranked junior team in Ontario and have won four events on the tour this season, including the provincial championship. 

The 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships kick off on Saturday, February 2 in Fort McMurray with round robin play opening up. Ontario is competing in Pool A along with Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Prince Edward Island, British Columbia and Nunavut. The mens event will wrap up on February 9 with the semifinals and final with the final being broadcast live on TSN.
