Spotlight On Cheerleading
Person Profile

In 2007 first-year Head Coach Melissa Marshall led a young all-girls Laurier Cheerleading team to first place at the 23rd Annual University National Cheerleading Competition. This was the first national title in Laurier cheerleading history. A former Laurier cheerleading team captain, Melissa coordinated a routine that had one judge saying “Way to come and command respect”, while another said “You ladies rocked it!” The Hawks won decisively by 200 points.

In 2008 the Hawks squad repeated as champions in the All-Girls Division, winning by 117.5 points.
